Compliance Officer

Location: Cuffley, Herfordshire

Job Purpose

The Compliance Officer will support the Head of Compliance in strengthening the company’s business compliance framework and enabling compliant global mobility across our international operations. This role will assist with the coordination, monitoring and administration of country-specific compliance requirements and overseas working arrangements. You will play a key role in navigating the complexities of global regulations, contributing to the seamless integration of compliance practices across our expanding operations.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors, the Compliance Officer will contribute to developing robust processes that protect the business while enabling effective global operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support with international filings and registrations.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive database of compliance factors for each country of operation and gathering information on new regions.
  • Conduct international right-to-work checks for all employees travelling overseas.
  • Assist with visa applications by collating supporting documents, tracking progress, and liaising between legal advisors and employees.
  • Manage internal databases, ensuring transparency and accuracy; provide reports as required.
  • Track and ensure that records of employee overseas travel are up to date.
  • Perform compliance audits to ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Identify risks, escalate to the Head of Compliance, and support the required action.
  • Build internal and external relationships, support processes, and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Contribute to the development of better practices and policies for working overseas.
  • Conduct compliance research to support overseas working arrangements, including reviewing country-specific regulatory requirements and identifying relevant obligations.
  • Monitor compliance with international working regulations and keep up to date with changes.
  • Manage posted worker notifications to ensure compliance with local requirements.
  • Manage A1 applications, including preparing and submitting Social Security certificates for employees working overseas and tracking their progress.
  • Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
  • Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in IT skills, including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), and SharePoint.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, ever-changingenvironment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across global entities.
  • Education or experience in relevant sector (degree desirable) with a keen interest in regulatory compliance and governance.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion.
  • Ability to speak other languages is advantageous but not essential.
