We are seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Officer (Non-UK) to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function within a high-volume, multi-regional data centre environment. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, adherence to financial controls, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience managing complex payment cycles across multiple jurisdictions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable processes for various Group entities, including invoice verification, approvals, and payments.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and external regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Coordinate with procurement, finance, and operations teams to ensure accurate and efficient payment cycles.
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions and support month-end closing activities.
- Assist in audits by providing required documentation and responding to queries.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounts payable function.
- Mentor junior accounts payable staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
- Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial controls.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, especially Navison/similar, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a multi-regional or international finance environment.
- Experience in multi-currency payments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts payable or related finance roles.
- Experience in the data centre, construction, or technology sector is preferred.
- Professional certification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
