Marking a Milestone Year
As 2025 comes to a close, I’m taking a moment to reflect on what has been an extraordinary year. The arrival of 2026 will mark a significant personal milestone, my fortieth year in the industry. When I started my career in 1986 at a small company called Compucorp, I never imagined the journey that would lead me here.
My time in the Royal Navy and later with British Aerospace in Saudi Arabia laid the foundation for a career I could only dream of. Those experiences taught me resilience, discipline, and adaptability, all qualities that have shaped every step of my professional life.
Growth and Achievements with Datalec Precision Installations
Fast-forward to today, the past thirteen months with Datalec Precision Installations have been the busiest and most rewarding of my career. The company continues to achieve consistent year-on-year growth, and I’m proud to have played a part in that success.
This year, we launched a new APAC region and expanded operations in the Middle East, while growth across Europe, our home base, remains strong. By year-end, we’ll have 23 entities worldwide, with more in the pipeline.
Vision, Strategy, and Stability
Our Senior Management Team’s clear vision and purpose inspire confidence in the company’s future. Reinvestment into your own company is never easy, but our efforts thus far have yielded positive signs for a secure and prosperous future. While it may seem little has changed on the surface, behind the scenes, strategies are evolving and taking shape, giving us a clear direction forward.
Showcasing and Expanding Our Presence
We’ve made a strong impact at major industry events this year, including Datacentre World London, GITEX Asia, Datacentre World Asia, GITEX Global Middle East, Touchdown Middle East, and the Thailand Cloud and Datacentre Convention. I’ve personally attended most of these, travelling to the Middle East three times, APAC three times, and Europe multiple times.
Commitment to Sustainability
I’m proud to see our sustainability efforts gaining recognition from CDP and EcoVadis. Soon, we’ll share our Science Based Targets, further demonstrating our commitment to a greener future. These initiatives matter deeply to our clients and partners, and they reflect our responsibility as an industry leader.
Looking Forward
As I reflect on my career, I’m grateful for the incredible experiences and people who have shaped both my work and personal life. Work should be enjoyable, and I’ve always tried to bring a sense of fun to every environment. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m excited for what’s next.
2026 is set to bring exciting new challenges and opportunities, and we’re ready to embrace them. Hard work is in our DNA, and we’re committed to driving innovation and growth in the year ahead.
