DPI in the Middle East: Building Tomorrow’s Digital Infrastructure Today

As the digital infrastructure landscape across the Middle East accelerates, Datalec Precision Installations (DPI) is proud to be at the forefront of this transformation. From our firmly established presence in the UAE to our imminent expansion into Saudi Arabia, DPI is not only growing geographically but also redefining what it means to deliver comprehensive, future-ready data centre solutions in the region.

A Strong Foundation in the UAE

2024 marked a pivotal year for DPI in the UAE. What began as a modest in-country team of three has evolved into a dynamic, multi-disciplinary operation. Our 51,000-square-foot Dubai facility now serves as our regional head office, manufacturing hub, marketing suite, and training centre. This site is more than just a factory; it’s a symbol of our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and regional value creation.

Key milestones in the UAE include setting up a localised manufacturing team and successfully delivering major projects in Abu Dhabi. Our growth has accelerated with the addition of dedicated Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Sales Engineering departments. We are proud to be approaching 100,000 man-hours without any major incidents, a testament to our commitment to safety and operational excellence. Beyond project delivery, we actively engage with the industry by hosting Mixing IT events and showcasing our solutions at leading platforms such as GITEX Global. These achievements underscore our deep integration into the UAE’s data centre ecosystem and highlight our readiness to scale even further.

Saudi Arabia: The Next Frontier

As we look ahead, Saudi Arabia represents the next strategic point in our GCC delivery model. Our new office in Dammam is in the final stages of incorporation and is expected to open before the end of the year. This expansion is not just about geographic reach; it’s about aligning with the Kingdom’s ambitious digital infrastructure goals, which are forecasted to reach US$6.73 billion by 2027.

Our Saudi operations will mirror the high standards and capabilities already proven in the UAE. DPI’s regional leadership team bring decades of experience in major project delivery, including grey space technical fit-outs, lifecycle services, and facilities management. Their expertise ensures that DPI’s Saudi entity will deliver with the same precision, agility, and quality that our clients have come to expect.

Beyond Whitespace: A Full-Spectrum Service Provider

While DPI is widely recognised for our excellence in whitespace integration, some clients may be unaware of the full breadth of our capabilities. We offer a comprehensive suite of services that span the entire data centre lifecycle, including:

  • Grey space technical fit-outs: From power distribution to cooling systems, we deliver robust infrastructure solutions tailored to each site’s unique requirements.
  • Lifecycle services: Including hardware migrations, data destruction, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Facilities management: Covering cleaning, environmental monitoring, and operational support.
  • High-value technical fit-outs: High-spec, bespoke installations that meet the most demanding standards.

All these services are not only available but are actively being delivered across the region. Our modular, scalable solutions empower clients to adapt quickly to evolving demands, whether driven by AI, cloud migration, or smart government initiatives.

Sustainability at the Core

Our Dubai hub exemplifies DPI’s ESG-driven philosophy. Sustainability is embedded in every aspect of our operations:

  • A 450kW rooftop solar array powers the facility, reducing our carbon footprint.
  • Over 80% of raw materials are sourced within a 20km radius, supporting the local economy and minimising transport emissions.
  • Advanced waste minimisation systems and on-site powder coating reduce water and chemical usage.

This integrated approach ensures that our manufacturing processes align with global sustainability standards while staying responsive to local needs.

Innovating for the AI Era

The Middle East is rapidly embracing AI, and DPI is enabling this transformation with infrastructure that is “AI-ready” by design. Our Hyperion Ceiling System, for example, supports high-density compute environments with exceptional load capacity and modular adaptability. This innovation allows for rapid deployment and easy maintenance, critical in a region where uptime and scalability are paramount.

We also manufacture fully bespoke, heavy-duty cabinets tailored to each client’s specifications. Every stage, from design to final assembly, is handled on-site, ensuring quality control and faster delivery timelines.

Regional Leadership Driving Local Impact

DPI’s success in the Middle East is rooted in our commitment to in-country leadership. We don’t parachute in expertise; we build it locally. Our regional management team blends international experience with deep local insight, enabling us to respond quickly and effectively to client needs. This approach fosters trust, agility, and long-term partnerships.

Looking Ahead

As Regional Director, I’m incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished in the region so far. From building a strong local presence to delivering high-impact projects and expanding our capabilities, these milestones are a testament to the dedication, expertise, and passion of our people.

As the Middle East continues to position itself as a global digital hub, DPI is committed to being part of that journey for the long term. We’re not just building infrastructure, we’re laying the foundation for a smarter, more resilient, and more sustainable digital future. The momentum we’ve built gives me great confidence in what lies ahead.
