Datalec Precision Installations (DPI) has taken another decisive step in its global expansion strategy, following the launch of its regional headquarters in Singapore, Asia’s most connected digital hub. Since then, DPI has successfully expanded into Indonesia making its Indonesian Headquarters in Batam, having now established itself as the leading E2E Datacentre service provider supporting the exponential growth of the Nongsa Digital Park DC journey, part of which has been employing in excess of 300+ people from the local community. Malaysia and Thailand entities have also now gone live with Hong Kong next to join the APAC Team.
“Our entry into APAC was the logical next chapter of our global vision,” says Peter Cole, Executive Vice President for APAC. “It enables us to bring truly end-to-end expertise closer to clients in this dynamic region.”
Unprecedented Growth Across APAC
The timing of DPI’s expansion aligns with a surge in regional data centre activity. According to Cushman & Wakefield, APAC closed 2024 with 12.2 GW of live IT load, adding 1.62 GW in a single year, with a further 14.4 GW already in the development pipeline. Malaysia’s Johor region more than doubled its capacity in 2024, while Singapore officially surpassed the 1 GW threshold, solidifying its status as a “mega-city” in the data centre world. Indonesia, too, is rapidly emerging as a key digital infrastructure hub in the region. According to imarc the country’s data centre market was valued at approximately USD 2.8 billion in 2024 and is forecast to grow at a CAGR of up to 12.3%, reaching nearly USD 7.8 billion by 2033. Total installed power capacity is projected to more than double from 0.97 GW in 2025 to 2.11 GW by 2030, driven by the rollout of 5G, growing cloud adoption, and rising demand for edge computing.
Riding the AI Wave
Fuelling this growth is the ongoing AI revolution. IDC forecasts that AI and GenAI investments across APAC will reach US$175 billion by 2028, growing at a staggering 33% annually. In parallel, cloud infrastructure spending is expected to hit US$250 billion by 2025, as hyperscale providers rapidly scale GPU-dense environments to support next-generation workloads.
DPI’s Full-Service Advantage
DPI is uniquely positioned to help data centre operators capitalise on this momentum. As a full-service provider, DPI delivers integrated design, build, installation and managed services under one roof, streamlining delivery and reducing project risk.
Our manufacturing facility in the UAE adheres to the same rigorous British standards that define DPI’s global reputation, and is perfectly located to support our customers in the APAC region in record time. All containment, caging, and fibre solutions are precision engineered and shipped directly to fast-track project timelines.
Each data centre is designed with tomorrow’s technology in mind, whether it’s hot-aisle containment, immersion cooling, or rear-door heat exchangers, our builds are optimised for high-density, AI-driven workloads from day one.
Empowering the Local Workforce
At the heart of DPI’s success is its people. Our Singapore hub anchors a diverse and rapidly expanding team of engineers, project managers, and service technicians drawn from across Southeast Asia. Through ongoing knowledge transfer training programs, we’re actively building local expertise and cultivating the next generation of data centre professionals.
“Our APAC workforce reflects the region’s rich cultural tapestry,” adds Cole. “That diversity drives the innovation our clients expect. We are passionate in upskilling the local community in each of the countries we operate in, that is a key driver to our and the country’s success and drive into the world of data centres and AI.”
Building the Future of Digital Infrastructure
From greenfield hyperscale campuses to edge facility retrofits, DPI is enabling clients to meet the demands of an AI-powered future with resilient, scalable, and sustainable infrastructure.
As APAC continues to surge as a data centre hub, DPI is proud to be part of this growth, driving performance, sustainability, and excellence across the region.
