Job Purpose
The Head of Technical Services will oversee and manage all aspects of Technivo’s operations, specialising in technical cleaning services in the Data Centre sector. As a strategic leader with a strong background in operations management within the technical cleaning industry, the Head of Technical Services will ensure the delivery of high-quality services, drive operational excellence, and contribute to the business’s growth and success. Accountable for operational delivery across various projects and clients, driving new business opportunities in new and existing regions whilst ensuring sustainable profitability and customer satisfaction through effective leadership, high-performing teams, and exceptional stakeholder management.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the profit and loss (P&L) accounts for Technivo, ensuring financial targets are met and implementing strategies to improve profitability. Forecast trends, control costs, and provide financial reports to senior management and make recommendations.
- Demonstrate strong Health and Safety leadership and compliance, ensuring risks are managed and promoting a safety culture. Support the Senior Management and central H&S team by delivering clear and consistent communications.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives, assess regulatory ascompliance, assessperational performance metrics, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand Technivo’s client base and service offerings within new and existing regions. Conducting thorough market research to identify potential clients and industry trends, developing tailored proposals to address unique client needs, and leveraging existing relationships to generate referrals and repeat business.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, creating respected and valued long-term relationships, addressing their needs and adapting services to exceed customer satisfaction. Work alongside the senior management team to maintain and enhance customer relationships which deliver the needs of the business strategies.
- Advocate the company’s brand by participating in industry events, networking with key stakeholders, and showcasing Technivo’s expertise and commitment to quality through various marketing channels.
- Oversee the allocation and management of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials. Forecast recruitment activity and succession planning to meet current and future operational needs, managing budgets and optimising efficiency.
- Lead and mentor the operations team to achieve business objectives and maintain high performance standards. Provide clear direction, set objectives, and manage performance. Conduct employee performance reviews and support skill development and career progression through mentoring and coaching.
- Identify and manage business unit risks and opportunities, ensuring that these are commercially mitigated or enhanced to provide a clear and up-to-date risk position. Communicating this risk position to internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Ensure that bids and contracts in your area of control provide accuracy and integrity of cost, values and programme information, and that they implement actions which mitigate risk and maximise profitability and meet customer expectations.
- Supply chain engagement, maintaining relations and understanding escalation structure and processes to overcome barriers to resolve disputes or issues. Manage contracts to support service delivery and commercial activity.
- Ensure all cleaning services meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations.
- Operate as a subject matter expert in relevant areas of expertise and/or sectors DPI operates within.
- Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
- Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures.
Essential skills and knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably within the technical cleaning or facilities management industry.
- Strong commercial awareness, experience in tendering bids and contracts.
- Excellent customer relations and proven business development.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
- Flexibility to travel to meet business needs.
