Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Location: Cuffley, Hertfordshire, UK

Job Purpose

The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager (FP&A Manager) will be responsible for leading the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across the organisation. This role will support commercial and operational leads, ensure the integrity of project financials (particularly within Eque2), and deliver timely, insightful reporting to support strategic decision-making at the senior leadership level.

The FP&A Manager will manage, support, and analyse our growing portfolio of projects while strategically implementing new processes and systems that align with the business objectives and financial performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head of Finance to provide clear financial insights and reports that highlight trends and performance. Offer recommendations to support strategic decisions and improve operations.
  • Lead the preparation of project forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to challenge assumptions and validate financial inputs.
  • Support the Operations team to improve CVR & P&L quality on projects.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of project data within our ERP system (Dynamics 365 Business Central, Eque2).
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Senior Leadership Team review.
  • Support the development of strategic plans and quarterly forecasts.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of financial reporting and planning.
  • Assist with the preparation of board packs and investor presentations
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support business initiatives and investment decisions.
  • Support EOM project closures, accruals and postings
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial systems and reports.
  • Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
  • Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures.

 Essential Skills and Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or technology sector.
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and ideally Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 Desirable

  • Experience in high-growth, multi-entity, multi-currency environment
  • Familiarity with international finance and compliance frameworks
  • Prior exposure to data centre, construction, or technology sectors
  • Strong Jet reports or Power BI capabilities
  • Experience with Salesforce
