Document Controller

Location: London

We have an opportunity for an ambitious, highly motivated Document Controller to join our progressive and growing company.

Job Purpose

As a Document Controller at Datalec Precision Installations, you will play a crucial role in managing and organising project documentation. You’ll ensure that all documents are accurate, up-to-date, and securely stored. This is a key role within the project team, and as such, you must possess a strong team ethic, flexible approach, to be able to work unsupervised and to deadlines, and have excellent communication skills.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Document Management: Maintain accurate records of project-related documents, including drawings, specifications, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Version Control: Ensure that all documents are up-to-date, properly versioned, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to organize and distribute project documentation.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement document control procedures to maintain data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
  • Project Management: To create, populate and manage a live document tracker specific to the project, to record every document and transmittal.
  • Quality control: To assess the quality and properties of all incoming and outgoing official documentation.
  • Administrative Support: Proactively manage all aspects of the day-to-day running of the project office; and provide full administrative support to the project team. Attend project review meetings and report to the documentation manager routinely.

Qualifications: Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in document control or project administration.
  • Proficiency in document management software and tools, SharePoint advantageous.
  • Detail orientated: Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Methodical: Systematic approach to managing documents.
  • Adaptability: Able to handle changing priorities and project requirements.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Hours of work

40 hours per week

Core working hours 8.00am to 5.00pm.

Office based in London but travelling to other offices.

Salary

£35 -£38k, depending on experience.
