Job Purpose
As the Business Development Manager (APAC), you will identify and develop new business opportunities, establish strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth within the data centre sector. Leveraging your expertise and industry connections, you will expand our footprint across APAC, positioning our company as the go-to provider for end-to-end data centre deployment solutions. This role requires a proactive approach to business development, focusing on relationship-building, and nurturing client relationships to build a robust pipeline in the APAC region. The role is to report to the Executive Vice President of APAC but is also responsible for reporting sales performance status in collaboration with the Sales & Marketing Director and senior management team, ensuring group visibility.
Duties & Responsibilities
- In coordination with direct and in-direct reports (Matrix), develop and execute a comprehensive APAC business development strategy to drive revenue and client acquisition across APAC.
- Identify, prospects, and engage new clients, building strong relationships with key decision-makers in the data centre industry.
- Attain full understanding of the business’s capabilities and suite of data centre solutions enabling natural scope growth.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, ensuring consistent deal flow, revenue growth and margin expectations working within the business strategy.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales engineering, operations, and project management, business unit leads to ensure seamless client engagement and project execution.
- Stay ahead of market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to position our solutions effectively.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, proactively engage with potential clients through various channels, including industry events, conferences, online platforms, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and market presence.
- Act as a lead and promote Leadership in negotiations and contract discussions to successfully close deals collaboratively with key stakeholders within the business.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Understand their needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and strategic partnerships. Build and manage a pipeline of potential clients and projects.
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape in the APAC region. Provide insights and recommendations to the senior management team.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to develop and implement business development strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Promote the Company’s services and capabilities in a professional manner, with a client centric approach at the forefront to deliver on our values and uphold our reputation.
- Proactively provide regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and market insights for the senior management team.
- Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties.
- Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company, and group policies and procedures.
Essential skills and knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, preferable but not essential.
- Minimum 5+ years of business development experience in the data centre, critical infrastructure, or technology solutions industry.
- Strong understanding of data centre design, fit-out, and infrastructure requirements.
- Strong understanding of the APAC market and business landscape.
- Proven track record of winning new business and driving revenue growth in APAC.
- Established network within the data centre ecosystem, including end-users, consultants, service providers, data centre colocation providers, hyperscale, and cloud providers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to confidently negotiate and present.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a strategic mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel across the APAC region as required.
- Flexibility with working hours to meet the demands and requirements of the role and business.
- Proficiency in the English language is desirable to support global operations.
